To my fellow Oregon Democrats:

It is with great appreciation that I write this letter to support the re-election of Wayne Kinney as Democratic National Committeeman for Oregon. I believe he is the most qualified person to represent the interests of Oregon at the national level.

During his past term of office, Wayne has attended all the meetings of the DNC, reporting the decisions made at those meetings at our state and local meetings. He listens attentively to our concerns and relays this information back to the DNC as appropriate.

He is always available for consultation on matters affecting the smooth operations of the Baker County Democratic Central Committee, returning calls promptly and giving sound advice. He attended over half of our meetings in the past year, giving valuable support and keeping us “on track” as we built our campaign strategy for the election of 2004. He was instrumental in getting some excellent speakers for our meetings. We trust Wayne to give us reliable information and fair assessments of our goals.

It was Wayne’s supportive attitude that encouraged me to run as delegate to the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Then in 2002, when I ran for the office of State Representative, Wayne provided expert guidance as well as printing out voter lists and helping me with contacts throughout the district.

Wayne has a thorough knowledge of the political situation in rural Oregon and we need this representation and experience on the Democratic National Committee. He will speak up for our needs as a region and as a state, he will cooperate with other interests to reach our common goals, and he will provide responsible leadership for our diversified members. Please join me in re-electing Wayne Kinney as Democratic National Committeeman.
